  4. Act as a communication link between patients and the Food Service and Nutrition Departments.
  5. Assemble meal trays accurately and attractively, following food safety and sanitation regulations.
  6. Utilize hospital systems for managing patient dietary information efficiently.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure smooth operations.
  8. Comply with all relevant health and safety standards.
  9. Understand various hospital diets and locate necessary information as needed.
  10. Exhibit professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training sessions.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of required nutrition in-service classes is mandatory.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of general work experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in institutional food service preferred.
  • Certification from the Tyler Smith County Public Health District Food Training is required within six months of hire.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using hospital information systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain efficient work habits.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on customer service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy items as necessary.
  • Exposure to various kitchen elements and environments.
