Patient Safety Monitor

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Attendant to join our team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Observe patients for harmful and/or dangerous behaviors, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager and direct supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse or delegated Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Perform a variety of patient care activities to meet the daily personal needs and comfort of the patient, including maintaining an uninterrupted line of sight with the patient.
- Report any activity outside of established parameters to the Nurse Manager, Professional Registered Nurse, delegated Licensed Practical Nurse, or Nursing Assistant.
- Follow suicide precautions and guidelines for patients who are on Suicide Precautions.
- Communicate information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain and adjust schedule to enhance team performance.
- Demonstrate a daily commitment to the mission, vision, and values of New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
- Develop positive interpersonal relations with all members of the patient care team.
- Continuously promote customer satisfaction.
- Engage in ongoing personal development to enhance personal growth.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- American Heart Association HS (Heart Saver) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- No prior experience is required, but you will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.
