ARMHS Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ARMHS Practitioner to join our team at Canvas Health. As an ARMHS Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing adult rehabilitative mental health services to individuals with serious mental illnesses or serious and persistent mental illnesses.

• Provide individualized support and guidance to clients to help them manage their mental health and develop skills for independent living.
• Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized recovery plans to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
• Collaborate with community services, court services, and private providers to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Provide education and support to clients on mental health topics, including crisis management, relapse prevention, and medication management.

• Meet DHS qualifications for a Mental Health Practitioner, including completion of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields, and 2,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
• Complete training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
• Have a strong understanding of the mental health system and community resources.
• Be able to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions.

• Master's degree or higher in social work, family therapy, professional counseling, or psychology or other behavioral science.
• Experience as an ARMHS worker or in a similar role.
• Experience working in home-based settings or with individuals with serious mental illnesses.
• Proficiency in electronic health records and other software applications.
