ARMHS Practitioner

The ARMHS staff provide adult rehabilitative mental health services that instruct, assist, and support the recipient in basic living and social skills to individuals with serious mental illnesses or serious and persistent mental illnesses.

• Provide instruction, assistance, and support to recipients in basic living and social skills
• Help restore recipients' skills for managing their illness and everyday independent living
• Work collaboratively with Community Services, Court Services, private providers, outside resources, and programs at Canvas Health
• Requires the ability to drive to individuals' homes or in the community when needed

• Meet DHS qualifications for a Mental Health Practitioner
• Completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields AND completed 2,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities
• OR Completed 4,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities AND completes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects

• Master's degree or higher in social work, family therapy, professional counseling, or psychology or other behavioral science
• Experience as an ARMHS worker
• Experience working in home
• Experience with electronic health records
