Position Overview:
We are in search of a Project Analyst to deliver strategic and program management support, enhancing the mission of a bureau within the Department of State. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring comprehensive knowledge of client challenges, requirements, and contexts.
  • Assisting in the development of internal communication strategies to maintain staff awareness of critical bureau initiatives, priorities, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinating and providing logistical support for briefings, workshops, working groups, integrated project teams, committees, conferences, and other operational activities.
  • Promoting diversity, culture, and cross-bureau collaboration through organizational enhancements, including training and technology strategies.
  • Facilitating the collection of staff feedback to formulate and implement recommendations for improving bureau processes.
  • Supporting the ongoing development and performance reporting of strategic planning documents.
  • Communicating insights, results, and recommendations clearly through written reports and presentations.
  • Collaborating with client stakeholders to create process maps, project plans, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Producing program materials using Microsoft Suite applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • An active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one (Required).

  • Program management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Experience in creating, analyzing, and presenting surveys and data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • The ability to cultivate a high level of trust with clients.
Client Overview:
The Bureau of Global Public Affairs (GPA) serves to effectively communicate U.S. foreign policy priorities and the significance of diplomacy to American audiences while engaging foreign publics to foster understanding and support for U.S. values and policies. Within GPA, the Office of the Executive Director (GPA/EX) is tasked with planning, coordinating, and executing policy in areas such as financial, physical, administrative, and human resource management, along with strategy and information technology. The focus of work will encompass the following task areas:
  • Communications and Culture
  • Strategy Implementation and Program Evaluation
  • Special Projects and Additional Support Tasks
  • Task Order Management
Objectives:
Support for these areas will assist GPA/EX in achieving objectives such as:

  • Establishing a standardized approach to align work units with GPA strategy, vision, and goals.
