We are looking for a highly skilled Accounting and Financial Reporting Professional to join our team.



Job Summary:

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Professional will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including maintaining controls over the General Ledger and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of business transactions in accordance with Company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily and monthly journal entries for a $500MM+ portfolio of litigation funding receivables, and other accounts such as prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, elimination, utilizing Sage Intacct system to ensure proper recording of transactions on financial statements.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations using BlackLine automation software to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements in accordance with USClaims's accounting policies.
  • Manage fixed assets, including maintaining schedules, preparing journal entries, and reconciling the sub-ledger to the general ledger.
  • Prepare payroll schedules by retrieving data from ADP, posting bi-weekly payroll entries and accruals, and analyzing and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research, investigating variances, and processing entries to correct discrepancies.
  • Prepare external monthly financial reporting package, including related compliance certificates in accordance with governing agreements.
  • Research technical accounting issues and draft memos to ensure compliance with Company policies and GAAP in various areas, including revenue recognition, leases, and other topics.
  • Assist with the preparation of the year-end financial statements; prepare schedules and other information requested by outside auditors for the annual audit of the company.
  • Support the continuous improvement of an adequate internal control system that scales with the growth of the business.
  • Performs other related projects as assigned.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid work ethic, including the ability to follow up, focus on details, self-review, and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Dynamic in the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is a plus.
  • Motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the Organization.


This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
