Position Overview

Salary: $17-$22/hr

Role Summary

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized care and associated services in a home environment. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and the Associate Director of Nursing or designated supervisor, the CNA is instrumental in promoting patient health and ensuring adherence to established care plans.

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant training program
  • Current CNA licensure in the relevant state
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a CNA role
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in home health care
  • Thorough understanding of nursing care techniques and protocols
  • Comprehension of nursing principles
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to compliance
  • Demonstrated compassion and empathy
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
  • Organizational capabilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out personal care duties as specified in the care plan, focusing on the unique needs of each client.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the Registered Nurse, strictly following established protocols.
  • Monitor and document any changes in the client's physical or emotional state.
  • Promptly report observations, treatment reactions, and other pertinent information to the Registered Nurse.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients and their families, ensuring clarity regarding care procedures and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, including the Registered Nurse and other professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Receive ongoing supervision and feedback from the Registered Nurse to enhance skills and uphold high care standards.
  • Participate in regular performance discussions to address any challenges.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures related to client care, safety, and infection control.
