About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our counseling services department, you will play a vital role in providing mental health support to our students and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Individual Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students, addressing a range of concerns including academic stress, relationships, and mental health issues.
  • Group Counseling: Lead group therapy sessions, focusing on topics such as stress management, anxiety, and depression.
  • Crisis Counseling: Offer immediate support and guidance to students in crisis, working closely with campus resources and emergency services as needed.
  • Supervision and Training: Provide clinical supervision and training to junior staff members, ensuring they receive the support and guidance needed to excel in their roles.
  • Case Management: Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to develop and implement effective case management plans, addressing complex mental health issues and connecting students with relevant resources.
  • Liaison and Outreach: Establish and maintain strong relationships with campus departments, promoting mental health awareness and providing educational programs and workshops to support student well-being.
Requirements
  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology, Counseling, Clinical or Educational Psychology.
  • Considerable knowledge of professional mental health practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Valid licensure to practice as a psychologist in the state of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a college counseling setting, with a focus on short-term treatment and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies and interventions, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Experience providing outreach and group therapy programs, with a focus on promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.
