Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Rosewood Miramar Beach. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining services, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain dining areas, including tables, chairs, and linens
  • Retrieve and wash soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils
  • Transport supplies and food to service areas
  • Assist the kitchen with plating up of banquet meals
  • Clean and maintain equipment in the dishwashing, kitchen, cafeteria, compactor, and storage areas
  • Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick-up areas
  • Sweep or scrub floors
  • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in service stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars
  • Receive and store supplies
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam
  • Meet with the Stewarding Team to review assignments, anticipate business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the job performance
  • Prepare and organize all items needed from different areas to ensure all items are in place and ready for service
  • Review status of work and follow-up actions required with the Stewarding Management Team prior to leaving
  • Take reasonable and necessary precautions to ensure personal health and safety
  • Report to management (or follow the procedure as established in Safety Program, Policies, and Procedures), all conditions that may be affecting the safety and health of the workplace
  • Report to management all occurrences that cause injury or damage to any person or property

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a high school diploma and hospitality background, with some previous experience in a similar position. You must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, prioritize, organize, and follow-up, be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment, follow directions thoroughly, understand a guest's service needs, work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team, work with minimal supervision, maintain the confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data, and speak, read, and write English. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements

You must be able to exert physical effort in transporting equipment and heavy kitchen items, and endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down.

Health and Safety

You will be responsible for ensuring that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified, handling chemicals or other agents in accordance with the manufacturers' guidelines, knowing and enforcing the resorts and departments' security policies, and ensuring work area, materials, and equipment are maintained in a clean and tidy manner.
