Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in the Operating Room.
Responsibilities- Support the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the division of nursing and Department of Surgical Services.
- Prepare for scheduled operative procedures by arranging sterile setups and maintaining a sterile field throughout the case.
- Pass instruments, sponges, sutures, and other sterile supplies and equipment to surgeons and assist during procedures.
- Assist RNs with circulating duties, such as opening supplies, assisting with positioning, and preparing the operative site.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments used during surgery and assist with dressing the operative site following closing.
- Operate and care for surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies per department policy and manufacturer recommendations.
- Participate in Trinity Health quality improvement processes and demonstrate continued support of the hospital's commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Provide quality patient care by considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
- Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships, approach conflict in a constructive manner, and help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
- Assume responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner and report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
We require an Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or two years of surgical technologist experience. Certification is preferred. You must have interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, surgeons, and other patient care personnel, as well as analytical skills to organize and prepare the operating room according to best practice methods and procedures.
