As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Infusion Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients receiving therapeutic intravenous treatments. This position is centered around facilitating patient intake processes and managing the necessary documentation for infusion therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with patients to gather essential information for processing prescriptions, refills, and benefit access, while fostering long-term relationships built on trust.
- Conduct thorough investigations to verify insurance benefits for pharmacy and medical claims, collaborating with financial assistance teams as needed.
- Manage prior authorization requests by initiating, tracking, and expediting communication with insurance providers, ensuring timely updates for patients.
- Oversee the appeals process, working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to address denial issues and submit necessary documentation.
- Ensure all clinical information is accurately compiled before submission of appeals, coordinating with relevant parties as required.
- Monitor the status of prior authorizations and appeals, providing updates to patients and activating copay cards based on eligibility.
- Identify and escalate service issues related to authorizations or financial assistance to maintain patient access to necessary therapies.
