Job Title: Paralegal- First Party Property Litigation

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal to join our team at Suncoast Drivers. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys in first-party property defense litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in opening new files, calendaring deadlines, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and examinations under oath, and prepare required documents.
  • Draft pleading shells, including complaints, discovery responses, and motions.
  • File pleadings with the court using e-filing systems and county-specific software.
  • Monitor and obtain discovery responses and non-party documents.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, coordinating phone calls, hearings, and deadlines.
  • Learn client software systems and ensure documents are uploaded or downloaded as required.
  • Assist with gathering and organizing file documents, policies, and documents received from outside sources.
  • Send and respond to correspondence and emails from opposing counsel, vendors, clients, and the Court.
  • Process vendor invoices according to client requirements.
  • Answer general phone calls and communicate professionally with opposing counsel, clients, and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in first-party property defense litigation.
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, and general litigation procedures.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in English language.
  • Excellent secretarial and organizational skills.
