We are seeking a highly qualified Business Education Teacher to join our team at Behavioral Health Associates.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering instruction to students and helping them develop the skills necessary to be successful within the school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students in assigned classes, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Prepare for assigned classes, ensuring a well-structured and engaging curriculum.
  • Assess and report student performance, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
  • Work closely with parents and staff to address student needs and progress.
  • Coordinate classroom duties with support staff and administration, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Be responsible for equipment and materials, maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Directly supervise support staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Utilize non-violent crisis prevention intervention techniques when necessary, prioritizing student safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive school environment, promoting restorative practices and a sense of community.
  • Attend staff meetings as required, staying informed and engaged with school initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in teaching or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Pennsylvania certification or private certification in teaching, with expertise in the subject area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing student needs and goals.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in relevant technology.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry standards.
