Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician EMT to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System Inc. As an EMT, you will provide direct assistance in patient care to a diverse ED patient population. This role requires a strong foundation in emergency medical services, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of safety and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct assistance in patient care to a diverse ED patient population
  • Perform duties such as Point of Care Testing, General Phlebotomy, and Sample Collection
  • Work under the direction of Licensed Nursing Staff to provide assistance and perform care within the scope of practice
  • Recognize and report conditions that affect or compromise technical aspects of the test/procedure
  • Participate in the assessment of patient's physical and emotional needs and communicate findings to appropriate healthcare providers
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and therapeutic environment
  • Abide by patient safety standard guidelines to ensure safety of patient and self
Requirements
  • Current EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certificate or Diploma from Accredited Learning Institute in Emergency Medical Technology
  • At least one (1) year of experience providing direct care to patients in the pre-hospital, ED, or Office environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in peripheral venous sampling and IV Access
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide input and feedback into process improvement activities
  • Knowledge of Basic Medical Skills and Equipment within Scope of EMT
