As a Certified Nursing Assistant at CAMC Health System, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse. Your responsibilities will include performing various direct patient care activities, procedures, and other indirect services.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Quality Care: Provide quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Assist with Procedures: Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
- Provide Optimum Assistance: Provide optimum assistance to the medical and nursing staff by providing/assisting patients with activities of daily living and daily assignments.
- Orient New Staff: Assist in the orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
- Respond to Patient Requests: Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests.
- Cover the House: May be required to cover the house.
- Unit Maintenance: Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patient.
Common Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain and Document: Maintain and document all applicable required information.
- Positive Customer Service: Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relationships.
- Comply with Attendance Policy: Comply with the company's attendance policy.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.
- Perform Work in a Cost-Effective Manner: Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform Work in Accordance with Departmental Pay Practices: Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call.
- Follow Organizational and Departmental Policies: Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.
- Perform Related Duties: Perform related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Nursing Assistant Certification: Nursing Assist, Cert (Required)
- Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
