Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Information Systems Specialist to join our team at the West Virginia Department of Transportation. As a key member of our Information Technology Division, you will be responsible for analyzing, installing, implementing, and maintaining information technology platforms and applications for our agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software problems to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of software systems and analyze compatibility with existing hardware and software installations.
  • Research, write reports, and procure technology systems to meet the needs of our agency.
  • Conduct business process analysis to determine the best fit of technology to improve agency functions.
  • Develop and maintain information technology systems documentation and training materials.
  • Install and configure hardware and software, and troubleshoot system problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer programming, office automation, planning, and purchasing, and implementation of hardware and software, teleprocessing, or system analysis.
