About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Archaeological Consultant to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Walnut Creek, California.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that will be based in our Walnut Creek office and involve up to 33% local and regional travel. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cultural resources management, including archaeological survey, testing, evaluation, and construction monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinating fieldwork and compliance documents for various utilities programs
  • Preparing and providing senior review of cultural resources reports
  • Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget
  • Completing QA/QC on deliverables
  • Contribute to and lead business development activities, including proposals for utility clients, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clients
  • Interact and interface with clients and environmental regulators
  • Construction contract administration and site inspection services
  • Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects
  • Strong skills in technical writing
  • Familiar with utilities Risk Assessments and risk matrix
  • Skilled in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public
  • Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence
  • Ability to provide written and verbal direction on project delivery
  • Shows leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performance
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license required
