We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Administrator II to join our team at California Correctional Health Care Services. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all food service and dietary activities in a large correctional facility health care program.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of our residents, working closely with clinical personnel to ensure that dietary interventions and strategies are effective.
- Develop and apply standards and procedures governing the operation of the food service department, ensuring compliance with state food control systems.
- Supervise the preparation and service of food, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct in-service training programs for food service staff, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of a Food Administrator I (Correctional Facility) or Food Administrator I, or two years of experience in a comparable position with supervisory responsibility for a program of food preparation, serving, buying, storage, and nutritional accounting.
- Equivalent to graduation from college and completion of an approved internship in institutional management or dietetics.
Travel is required for this position. You will be working in a correctional facility environment, and must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times.
