Food Service Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Administrator II to join our team at California Correctional Health Care Services. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all food service and dietary activities in a large correctional facility health care program.

- Work with clinical personnel on nutrition assessments, needs, dietary interventions, and strategies.
- Develop, interpret, and apply standards and procedures governing the operation of the food service department.
- Plan menus, estimate food requirements, and direct the preparation and service of food in accordance with the State food control system.
- Inspect food facilities for compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Plan and conduct In-Service Training programs for food service staff.
- Maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.
- One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of a Food Administrator I (Correctional Facility) or Food Administrator I.
- Or two years of experience in a position comparable to that of a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager which has included supervisory responsibility for a program of food preparation, serving, buying, storage, and nutritional accounting in a hospital, school, industrial plant, or similar organization serving a minimum of 500 persons per meal.
- Education: Equivalent to graduation from college and completion of an approved internship in institutional management or dietetics.
Travel is required.
