Veterinary Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Pathologist to contribute to our Medical Device Pathology team at W. L. Gore & Associates. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in evaluating the performance and safety of implantable medical devices, including vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, cardiac devices, surgical meshes, and sutures.
Responsibilities- Execute gross and microscopic analysis of medical devices to assess their performance and safety.
- Compile data and write concise pathology reports, internal white papers, and external peer-reviewed articles.
- Present data in written and verbal forms for various settings, including pathology reports, presentations, and educational courses.
- Interface with project teams to discuss evaluations and analyses.
- Input as a subject matter expert on non-clinical study protocols and regulatory-related efforts.
- Interact closely with study directors, research scientists, pathology technicians, histotechnicians, pathologists' assistants, clinical veterinarians, internal/external regulatory associates, product team associates, and medical personnel.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to good laboratory practice (GLP) guidelines, institutional animal care policies, and federal animal welfare regulations.
- Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited or equivalent institution.
- Advanced (residency) training in veterinary anatomic pathology.
- ACVP board certification or board eligibility (anatomic).
- Strong collaborative communication skills (written and verbal).
- Enthusiasm and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
