Lead Technician for F-16 Field Operations

Position Overview:
Join Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as a Shift Lead for F-16 Contractor Field Team (CFT) Modifications. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of F-16 Depot-level modifications and Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO). The ideal candidate will act as a working lead, ensuring the successful oversight of global AFS operations for the F-16 program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact between technicians, CFT Site Lead, and customers, facilitating day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrate expertise in aircraft electrical systems and wiring maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance data collection systems, technical orders, fault isolation manuals, and local operational instructions.
- Conduct troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of critical aircraft systems, including landing gear, flight controls, and hydraulic systems.
- Oversee all maintenance activities performed on assigned aircraft.
- Provide regular updates on work status to the CFT Lead and customers.
- Train assigned technicians in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and operations.
- Maintain product discipline, manage housekeeping, HAZMAT accountability, and ensure adherence to Tool & FOD controls and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats within a team environment, ensuring clear interactions with customers and personnel at all levels.
- Hold documented qualifications in relevant maintenance fields.
- Regularly lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and working at different heights.
- Obtain and maintain a government security clearance as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in F-16 aircraft maintenance and modification.
- Proficiency in F-16 Avionics and Electrical specialties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with USAF products and processes related to F-16 hardware and maintenance.
- Experience in process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Capability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in producing weekly status reports and managing schedules.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures affecting aircraft maintenance and modifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
