Job Title: Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Magrym Consulting, Inc. as a key member of our engineering team.

Job Summary:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for performing civil engineering work for both private and public sectors, including site development, commercial development plans, subdivisions, and roadways. The ideal candidate will have exceptional professional and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Complete tasks efficiently by utilizing time to complete tasks accurately, on time, and within budget.
  • Visit sites regularly and attend meetings with clients/contractors as needed.
  • Communicate with project team members, client representatives, and others as appropriate to the project.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Civil design experience in roadway, grading, drainage, utility, and site development projects.
  • Knowledge of local and state design standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of engineering and data analysis techniques and theories.
  • Ability to work independently or within a design team.
  • Excellent professional communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, with the ability to learn updated software.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and similar engineering software.
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information.
  • High level of customer service delivery.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in the design of civil engineering projects.
  • Must have an Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) certificate or ability to obtain within one (1) year of being hired.
  • Must obtain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or New Mexico within two (2) years of being hired.
