Position Overview

This part-time assistantship is dedicated to supporting all aspects of an NCAA Division III tennis program, including recruitment, athlete retention, training, and development, along with additional responsibilities as directed by the Head Women's Tennis Coach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in managing the daily functions of the women's tennis program.
  • Evaluate performance and coach athletes in tennis techniques and strategies for competitive events.
  • Support all elements of NCAA and CCIW compliant recruitment.
  • Plan and assess matches and practices, including video analysis and breakdown.
  • Ensure the academic success of tennis student-athletes by monitoring their academic performance, attendance, and conduct.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the broader campus community.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Head Women's Tennis Coach and other athletic department leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Acceptance into a graduate program at North Park University is necessary.
  • Experience in coaching at the high school level or collegiate playing/coaching experience is essential.
  • Ability to accommodate a non-traditional work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical capability to lift and transport athletic equipment.
  • Willingness to travel with the team, whether by vehicle or air.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Commitment to and advocacy for the university's mission, identity, and Christian values.
  • Personal dedication to North Park's mission of Christian higher education.
