We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical PCU/IMU department at the University of California System. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population of high-acuity medical-surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and provide nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs and medical equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- RN License issued by the State of California
- BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire
- Minimum of two years of recent acute care RN experience at the step-down, IMU, PCU, or Telemetry level of care or higher acuity
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- BSN
- Specialty certification in critical care or progressive care nursing
- Critical care/Progressive Care training or equivalent
- Previous work experience with cardiac monitoring and IV medication titration
- Demonstrates participation in shared governance committees
