About the Role

Lantheus is a leading healthcare company that has been at the forefront of medical imaging and diagnostics for over 60 years. We are committed to enhancing patient care and empowering clinicians to find, fight, and follow disease.

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs to lead our Medical Affairs function. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy that addresses both scientific and operational issues in partnership with R&D and Commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Operationalize a Medical Vision: Create an integrated medical vision for how Medical Affairs can contribute most meaningfully to address unmet medical needs.
  • Lead and Manage the Medical Affairs Function: Lead and manage the Company's Medical Affairs function, allocating and directing internal resources and effectively utilizing outsourcing to achieve project and business goals in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Commercial Leadership: Collaborate with the pharmaceutical research, clinical development, isotope strategy, and regulatory departments to support the planning, execution, and management of clinical trials activities.
  • Maintain Positive Professional Relationships: Maintain positive professional relationships with the medical community, to identify current and future business opportunities and emerging medical and health care practices.
  • Develop Strategy and Hire Key Contributors: Lead a Medical Affairs organization, by developing strategy and hiring key contributors.
  • Work with R&D Organizations: Work closely with R&D organizations to ensure that appropriate publication and Investigator Sponsored Trials policies are in place.
  • Work with Regulatory and Commercial Organizations: Work closely with the Regulatory and Commercial organizations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant preparation and review of promotional and educational material.
  • Provide Medical and Scientific Training: Provide medical and scientific training to the rest of the organization, and as well as, guidance to Commercial/Marketing Organizations on promotional material and campaigns.
  • Support Medical Governance: Support the medical governance of the Company.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Science Degree: Advanced life science degree, including Ph.D., and/or Pharm.D.
  • Minimum 15 Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of medical affairs or clinical research experience within the pharmaceutical industry, CRO health-related consulting company, or biomedical/clinical experience within academia (or a combination of aforementioned).
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 8 years' experience in leading a Medical Affairs function; prior experience with new product launch strongly preferred.
  • Medical Affairs Expertise: Previous Medical Affairs expertise within solid tumor oncology (prostate, neuroendocrine, breast, melanoma) strongly preferred.
  • Strong Managerial Experience: Track record of success in building and leading teams. Strong managerial experience essential.
  • Collaborative Medical Leader: Collaborative Medical leader who is able to establish and drive strong cross-functional partnerships and scientific exchange with diverse stakeholders.
  • US Healthcare Experience: Experience in the US health care marketplace is required.
  • Extensive Travel: Extensive travel is required as part of this position (50%).
  • Confidentiality and Ethics: Ability to maintain confidentiality and to operate in the role with the highest of ethical standards and professionalism is required.
