As a Lead Community Organizer with PICO California, you will be part of this movement, developing and implementing community organizing strategies that meet project objectives.

The project focuses on improving working conditions for recyclers in Los Angeles County through community organization, policy advocacy, and partnership building. This involves conducting outreach to recyclers, building organizing teams, creating partnerships with community-based organizations, and collaborating with Inclusive Action for the City to conduct policy research and power analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in community organizing, advocacy, or a related field, and be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Estimated salary: $72,500 per year.

Job Responsibilities
* Conducting outreach to recyclers to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations
* Building organizing teams composed of recyclers to lead project advocacy efforts
* Creating partnerships with community-based organizations and potential advocacy partners
* Collaborating with Inclusive Action for the City to conduct policy research and power analysis to determine policy campaigns to improve recyclers' working and economic conditions

Our Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in community organizing, advocacy, or a related field
* Bilingual in English and Spanish required
* Proven experience in community organizing and advocacy
* Ability to engage with diverse communities and foster relationships
* Experience in developing and implementing strategies to meet project objectives
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
