Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Clarvida - California. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will work under the supervision of a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse to provide direct patient care, educate clients on medications and side effects, and provide case coordination for complex patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the System of Care and be able to apply critical medical, psychiatric symptom, and drug interaction knowledge to support clinical team efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and providing education on medications and side effects.
  • Coordinate case management services for complex patients with multiple medications or conditions.
  • Work under the supervision of a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse to provide patient care and support.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources to assist in case management.
  • Teach clients about various diseases, such as TB, HIV, and hepatitis, and counsel them on the effects of alcohol and drug use.
  • Provide parenting skills and child development education to clients.
  • Function as a resource to clients, family members, and community resources, as well as allied professionals.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited vocational nursing school or accredited school for Psychiatric Technicians.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required with computer or business courses.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Current license to practice in the resident state.
  • Valid CA driver's license, valid auto insurance coverage, and proof of education required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year acute care experience and community clinic experience preferred.
  • Perinatal and substance abuse experience and education required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the severely and persistently mentally ill population.
  • Good organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Intermediate level PC skills required.
