Position Summary:
Under the direct oversight of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Inventory Control Specialist is tasked with the procurement, receipt, and distribution of food and related supply items. This role is essential in ensuring that patient nourishment pantries are stocked, maintained, and organized in compliance with health regulations. The position embodies the values and culture of Parrish Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procures, receives, and organizes supplies in various storage areas including dry storage, coolers, and freezers, adhering to established procedures and FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Monitors temperatures of storage units and verifies delivery accuracy against invoices while following all relevant health guidelines.
- Conducts regular inventory assessments to determine stock levels and ensure adequate supplies of food and materials.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of all storage areas, including walk-ins and refrigerators for patient nourishment.
- Monitors and replenishes supplies in patient nourishment areas and other designated locations, fulfilling departmental stock requests and coordinating deliveries as necessary.
- Collaborates with the Chef and management to review menu requirements and places orders using various communication methods.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with suppliers and delivery personnel.
- Supports team members and seeks assistance when necessary, contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues to ensure successful task completion, checking in with management before breaks and at the end of shifts.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to safety protocols and emergency procedures relevant to the work environment.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess a clear and current State of Florida Driver's License.
