Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Industrialization Manager (QAIM) acts as a risk management specialist. Commonly referred to as an Advanced Quality Engineer outside of Schneider Electric, the QAIM oversees the advanced quality planning process for New Product Development (NPD).

Engaging with product designers early in the Offer Creation Process, the QAIM becomes well-versed in the product, its components, and the associated risks.

With this knowledge, the QAIM spearheads the implementation of the Industrial Quality Approach, focusing on ensuring quality across each upstream supply chain field and internal process.

For upstream supply chains / Components & Sub-Assemblies, the QAIM:

  • Manages the component risk dashboard.
  • Facilitates collaboration on component risk analysis.
  • Develops the verification plan for each component and sub-assembly.
Leads essential industrial quality practices such as: P/RFMEA, Control Plan, CTQ/CTQP management, process capability, and process audits.

For internal processes, the QAIM:

  • Directs the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to ensure quality is integrated into processes.
  • Guarantees quality elements are included in equipment, tool, and process qualification plans.
  • Constructs the Process Quality Control Plan (PQCP) to ensure all engineering specifications are reviewed and controlled.

Additionally, the QAIM:

  • Communicates process quality data and requirements to suppliers and Schneider manufacturing facilities.
  • Provides PQCP and Component Quality Control Plans (CQCPs) to plants for the creation of Process Control Plans, Receiving Inspection, etc.
  • Oversees quality issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle, including the production pilot.
  • Supports and trains cross-functional teams on methods and tools essential for achieving robustness, capability, and quality targets.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Others

  • Proficient in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (including internationally)
  • Quality skills equivalent to a Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience in PFMEA and Control Plan execution
  • Knowledge of Design for Quality/Manufacturing
  • Familiarity with GD&T
  • Understanding of measurement technologies, their applications, and limitations.
  • Experience with assembly, sheet metal fabrication, stamping, and molding
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in a Plant-level Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or similar role
  • Experience in new product/process development is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
