Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to join our Sustaining Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of designs, creating procurement-ready drawings, and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs). Your expertise will drive innovations and improvements across our product lines, resolving technical issues in Supply Chain, Production, and Field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of design engineers in enhancing current core products from Clean Diesel to Battery Electric buses
- Oversee the development of designs, creation of procurement-ready drawings, and maintenance of BOMs
- Ensure effective communication within the team, align, and prioritize workloads, and manage resources to meet strategic objectives and operational targets
- Drive product reliability and safety forward through meticulous design processes, including FMEA, GD&T, FEA, and create robust, service-friendly, and cost-conscious mechanical designs
- Influence production processes by actively engaging in the Change Control process, seamlessly introducing new designs
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Physics required
- Minimum 8 years of Engineering experience
- Must have Design Engineering experience
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, CAD software, project management tools, root cause analysis, and the application of industry practices and standards (SAE, APTA, FMVSS, etc.)
- Possesses a broad technical skill set and a proactive approach to innovation
- Experienced in implementing permanent corrective actions across various technical domains based on a strong foundation in engineering principles, with the ability to rapidly assess and focus on effective solutions
The ideal candidate will be able to lift 25 lbs and regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat. Limited travel may be required.
CompensationThe expected compensation for this position is $75,000 - $275,000/annual salary + premium benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
