About the Role

Lakewood Health System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Retail Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent and high-quality experiences for patients as they fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, and supervise support retail pharmacy personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medication orders following Federal, DEA, and Minnesota Board of Pharmacy Rules and regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication therapies for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dose.
  • Provide accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to professional staff, patients, and their families.
  • Supervise and direct support personnel, including verifying daily activities of pharmacy technicians, and participating in performance evaluation of support personnel.
  • Lead in customer service by appropriately answering phone and requests at the window, and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Currently licensed by the State of Minnesota.
  • Ability to calibrate precise instruments.
  • Interpersonal skills that equip them to interact and communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Problem-solving skills, prioritizing effectively, and ability to multitask.
