Job Title: Bridge Team Leader

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is a leading consulting firm offering planning, engineering, and program management services. We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Team Leader to join our team.

Job Summary

The Bridge Team Leader will oversee the Structural Group, leading teams that perform planning, design, and construction management for roadway bridges, retaining walls, vertical structures, and port and marine structures. This role requires strong project management experience, structural design expertise, and excellent client relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Structural Group, overseeing project teams and ensuring successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Deliver structural engineering projects using project management experience, structural design expertise, and existing client contacts.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to position LAN for future growth and identify new market opportunities.
  • Supervise and review project managers and support staff to ensure high morale, production, and design quality.
  • Assess staff needs and conduct activities related to recruiting, retaining, and dismissing technical and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with field personnel, internal office staff, and clients.
  • Maintain weekly communication with the Practice Leader and Business Group Director.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans for the group in accordance with business group objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews in conjunction with the Practice Leader and Business Group Director.
  • Ensure adherence to established company and service line procedures for conducting work, documentation, and client management.
Requirements
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, STAAD, RISA, ANSYS, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction techniques, and quality control standards.
  • Working knowledge of International Building Code and standards.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering (Masters or PhD preferred).
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering and design.
  • TxDOT Bridge Design Precertifications (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
  • Must have personnel, business, and business development management experience.
