X-Ray Supervisor Job Description

Optum, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled X-Ray Supervisor to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for providing clinical, organizational, and scheduling support to ensure the smooth operation of our X-Ray services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage technologist schedules to optimize workflow and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, front desk staff, and other departments to resolve scheduling challenges and ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform clinical exams as needed and maintain a high level of technical proficiency.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead DOH inspections and Practice Health and Safety inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Independently resolve issues and coordinate resources to facilitate workflow, following up as needed.
  • Maintain daily contact with Radiology Managers and inform them of departmental activities requiring supervisory action.
  • Perform employee relations duties, including evaluations, corrective action, and time card management.
  • Ensure technologist compliance with credentialing and mandatory training requirements.
Requirements:
  • ARRT certification/licensure
  • NYS Radiology License
  • Knowledge of standard policies, procedures, and protocols to supervise the department directly
  • Knowledge of radiology standards to evaluate work of technologists
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Radiology, healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a technologist with 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
