Onix Hospitality is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at the Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront. As a key member of our hotel's operations team, the Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and functionality of the hotel's physical plant and engineering systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities for the entire hotel property, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing functionality of equipment and systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and guest inconvenience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to push, pull, move, lift, and/or carry minimum of 50lbs. a minimum of 5 ft. in distance.
- Requires reaching overhead, climbing, crouching, and twisting.
- Must be reliable and willing to work long hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
