Job Summary

We are seeking an early-career faculty member to join our Division of Surgical Oncology at VCU Health System. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional surgical oncology services to the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: You will have teaching responsibilities in surgical oncology, with a focus on general surgical oncology.
  • Research: You will participate in clinical or basic/translational science research relevant to surgical oncology, with a preference for cancer disparities, translational oncology, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, or cancer genomics.
  • Service: You will serve on university, health system, and departmental committees as requested by leadership, and assist with the recruitment, training, and placement of residents and fellows.
  • Clinical: You will be responsible for the care of surgical oncology patients on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community outreach satellite locations.
Requirements
  • Board certification in general surgery
  • Licensed in the state of Virginia
  • Advanced fellowship training in surgical oncology
  • Commitment to outcomes, clinical and/or basic/translational science research
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of external funding or proposal submissions to obtain funding
  • Experience in robotic surgery
