Job Summary

World Relief is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide critical support to newly arrived refugees and immigrants in their search for employment and career development. This role involves assisting clients in preparing for employment, utilizing employer contacts to place them in jobs, and counseling on job upgrades and career pathway opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide employment counseling to clients, including individual meetings, job prospect information, and follow-up on job leads.
  • Assist clients with resume preparation, job applications, interviews, and job offer paperwork.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new employers to increase interest in hiring World Relief clients.
  • Maintain accurate case files and case notes for program participants.
  • Collaborate with other department members to address barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Coordinate with church and volunteer staff to ensure volunteers meet client needs.
  • Attend department and office-wide meetings.
Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith.
  • Committed to World Relief's mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with at least one year of experience in an office environment.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
