Facility Maintenance Specialist

The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and repair of the facility and its associated systems. The responsibilities are executed in compliance with relevant standards to maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders. Additional duties may include security responsibilities in the absence of designated personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Maintenance and Repair


• Spearheads the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment to optimize operational efficiency.

• Ensures the functionality of the fire alarm system, including responding to alarms, replacing faulty components, and resetting the system.

• Directs the installation, repair, and testing of electrical circuits, equipment, and lighting systems as necessary.

• Manages parts ordering and inventory oversight with support from other team members.

General Facility Upkeep and Security


• Acts as the lead technician, assuming leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Operations.

• Provides training and development for department technicians.

• Ensures compliance with building codes while maintaining all physical structures of the facility.

• Operates and oversees the potable water supply in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Maintains the Sewage Treatment Plant as mandated by local regulations.

• Conducts urgent repairs and routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

• Performs preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems as needed.

• Conducts inspections and testing of emergency generators and related equipment.

• Undertakes light maintenance tasks as requested, including bulb replacements and minor carpentry.

• Executes security duties as assigned, ensuring the safety of individuals within the facility.

Documentation and Administrative Tasks


• Maintains comprehensive records of inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for all equipment and systems.

• Keeps training documentation for department technicians' skill enhancement.

• Prepares monthly reports summarizing maintenance activities and submits written reports to the Director of Operations.

• Provides insights and recommendations regarding hiring and performance evaluations of department technicians.

• Participates in the departmental on-call rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience. General maintenance experience is essential, with a preference for experience in healthcare settings.

Skills and Abilities:


• Completes all assigned tasks with professionalism, reflecting the integrity of the operations team.

• Available to work various shifts as assigned.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Possesses a working knowledge of fire alarm and signaling systems.

• Demonstrates proficiency in using and maintaining facility tools and equipment.

• Adheres to safety protocols and procedures.
