Job Summary:

The Rivers Edge Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team in the Live Well Fitness Center and Cardiac Rehab department. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for implementing and supervising physical exercise programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients and fitness center members. Your expertise will be essential in creating individualized exercise programs, monitoring participant progress, and educating patients on risk factors and lifestyle changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough interviews with participants to obtain vital signs, medical history, and oxygen saturation levels.
  2. Develop and implement individualized exercise programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients and fitness center members.
  3. Monitor participant progress, take manual blood pressures, and analyze cardiac rhythms strips.
  4. Supervise exercise sessions, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercises.
  5. Educate patients on risk factors, lifestyle changes, and proper exercise techniques.
  6. Maintain confidential participant records and report progress to hospitalists and referring physicians.
  7. Identify emergencies or health concerns and communicate with the team to establish best care.
  8. Orient participants to fitness center policies and equipment.
  9. Assist with behavior modification classes, such as stress management and weight control.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or similar field.
  • Good communication skills and ability to analyze cardiac rhythms strips.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS (American Heart Association).
  • Ability to take manual vital signs and demonstrate knowledge of correct exercise techniques.
  • CCRP certification preferred, required within one year of hire.


Working Conditions:

This is a.7 FTE position with flexible, daytime hours, no weekends or holidays. Compensation details include an hourly wage.
