UPMC is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
About the Role:This is a full-time position that will cover shifts 7 days a week with varying shift length and rotating between days and nights. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing inpatient care services in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including evaluation and management of neonatal patients and performing procedures as needed.
Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive physical assessments of newborns/infants, order and interpret laboratory, radiographic, and clinical data in planning and documenting the course of management.
- Initiate emergency evaluations and treatments.
- Regularly perform high-level invasive procedures such as umbilical line placement.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and consultants to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Provide support and information regarding the infant's condition, progress, and plan for care to parents/family, referring and consulting physicians.
- MSN or DNP required (ACNP) for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
- Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is required for Neonatal Physician Assistant.
- Staff Level, 0-3 years of NNP or PA level III or level IV NICU experience.
- Senior Level, 3+ years of NNP or PA level III or level IV NICU experience or completion of a neonatology residency/fellowship program.
- NRP required, or completed within 30 days of start.
- Basic Life Support OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
- Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
