Job Title: Wastewater Operator

Veolia North America is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Operator to join our team. As a Wastewater Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Facility and Combined Sewer Overflow Facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical O&M activities related to the WPCF and CSO#9, including all related infrastructure, equipment, processes, and systems.
  • Conduct Wastewater sampling and laboratory monitoring per Project and Regulatory requirements.
  • Assist department in planning, scheduling, and performing all department activities.
  • Assist department in maintaining proper inventory of chemicals, spare parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Perform work in a safe and professional manner by following all corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and emergency response procedures.
  • Work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on a rotating basis/schedule with fellow operators.
  • Respond to emergencies, work additional hours as required to complete tasks as/and when needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Strong reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Entry to Intermediate Level 1-5 years of experience working in the water or wastewater industry or related fields.
  • Valid MA Grade IV or higher Wastewater Treatment Operator License or ability to acquire within one year.
  • Valid MA Driver's license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines.
Working Conditions:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. The employee may be occasionally exposed to some noise, silica, dust, fumes, smoke, gases, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, and vibrations. The employee may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, and ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water and other liquid materials.
