Join Actalent as a Laboratory Research Associate and contribute your expertise to our team in Madison, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine testing support and supporting projects, including qPCR testing with samples that have a 7-hour turnaround time, in-process testing on raw materials, and finished product testing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Routine qPCR testing with a 7-hour turnaround time.
  2. In-process testing on raw materials, primarily from pig origin, and extracting RNA from tissue.
  3. Finished product testing.
  4. Contaminant monitoring and positive control environmental monitoring.
  5. Instrument calibration and maintenance, including centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and liquid handler robots.
  6. Inventory and reagent preparation and management.
  7. Validation of laboratory spaces and method drafting.
  8. Speciation assays to identify and quantify different species within a sample.
  9. Pipetting by hand, using various equipment, such as centrifuges, micro balances, fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and qPCR software.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Microbiology or a related field is required.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a PCR or micro lab environment are necessary.
  • Strong knowledge in quality control, method development, and GMP is essential.
  • Excellent skills in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, and pharmaceutical testing are necessary.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and environmental monitoring is required.
  • Experience with laboratory audits and document control is beneficial.
  • Experience with qPCR software is ideal.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
