Pediatric Oncology Nurse Navigator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Oncology Nurse Navigator to join our team at Marshall Health Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating care for pediatric oncology patients and their families from diagnosis to survivorship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate care for pediatric oncology patients and their families, ensuring seamless transitions between treatment phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Provide patient and family education, addressing concerns and answering questions about treatment options, side effects, and survivorship.
  • Facilitate appointments and referrals to outside organizations, ensuring timely access to necessary services.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Track programmatic quality indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts, promoting awareness and support for pediatric oncology patients and their families.
Requirements:
  • Current RN license in West Virginia.
  • 2 years of experience in pediatric oncology nursing or a related field.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
