The Financial Aid Administrator is a key member of the MelroseWakefield Healthcare team, responsible for ensuring the accurate distribution of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
Key Responsibilities- Counsels and advises students regarding financial aid processes and awards.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service to students while maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Manages and oversees the coordination of Pell and Direct Student Loan processing between the US Department of Education, students, and the institution.
- Manages federal campus-based student aid programs.
- Coordinates the annual filing of the FISAP, Nursing Student Loan Annual Operating Report, and other state/federal reports.
- Maintains strong regulatory knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements.
- Coordinates and oversees audits, compliance reviews, and account reconciliations.
- Works closely with the Bursar to ensure accurate disbursement of financial aid and student billing.
- Counsels students regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress criteria.
- Reviews and evaluates special circumstances and professional judgment cases.
- Performs Return of Title IV calculations.
- Oversees the coordination of the federal and college work-study program.
- Develops and updates publications related to financial aid.
- Collaborates with other departments to plan, develop, and execute enrollment/retention programs.
- Counsels on dropping/adding/failing as it relates to financial aid and student accounts.
