About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Technician to join our team at Mercy Hospital - St. Louis. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the appearance and sanitation of all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, diagnostic testing rooms, waiting areas, staff areas, examination rooms, and operating rooms.
  • Dispose of trash, recyclables, and medical waste according to policies and procedures.
  • Regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and use bleach and other hospital-approved disinfectants and cleaning products.
  • Operate a pager and computers to receive and send communication about patient rooms.
  • Hang cubicle curtains as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions.
  • Physical demands include pushing 67 lbs (rarely), pulling up to 34 lbs, kneeling and/or crouching, climbing stairs, carrying 24# (1 handed) and 32# (2 handed), balance, and pinching.
