Aircraft Mechanic Job Description

STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team. As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general to complex maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Removal and installation of panels and components
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues
  • De-fuelling aircraft
  • Engine removal/installations
  • Operating ground support equipment
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Associate's Degree in Aviation Technology preferred along with aircraft model-specific training
  • At least 2 years current experience maintaining, inspecting, servicing, and repairing corporate aircraft
  • Must possess a valid FAA A&P License

Physical Requirements:

  • Routine standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, or stooping
  • Manual work requires routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands
  • Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot

Skills:

  • Disassembles and inspects engines, aircraft structures, using testing equipment
  • De-fuelling aircraft
  • Engine removal/installations
  • Equipment and tooling

Initiative:

  • Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised, and maintain a rapid pace
  • Quality-oriented

Responsibility:

  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems

Compliance:

  • Possess a valid driver's license and US Passport (preferred)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ongoing employment requires participation and compliance with the Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program, which includes random testing
