Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Trainer to join our Prepared Foods Department team at Whole Foods Market. As a Team Trainer, you will play a critical role in supporting the high engagement, productivity, and retention of new members by organizing and delivering quality training on their home team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Ensure new and ongoing store and team training programs are successfully delivered and completed.
  • Coordination and Communication: Work with team leaders and the store trainer to schedule new member training during their first four shifts, and coordinate with new members, team leadership, and the store trainer on the timely completion of new member connections.
  • Operational Training: Facilitate team-specific operational training for team members, including team operational learning pathways and team-specific program rollouts.
  • Customer Service and Safety: Train all team members on customer service standards, look for opportunities to provide timely feedback, and act as a role model for constant food safety, sanitation procedures, and occupational safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Consistently practice and model proper care, use, and maintenance of all team equipment and PPE.
  • Training and Certification: Complete the team trainer operational learning pathway, team trainer certification, and other assigned training.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Organize, track, report, and maintain accurate training records using Whole Foods Market's learning systems.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6 months of Whole Foods Market experience (or equivalent retail training experience).
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner, and ability to meet customer service expectations and standards.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to: FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures less than 32°F (freezers), 32-40°F (refrigerators), greater than 90°F, and ability to work in wet and/or cold environments.
  • Equipment Use: Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
