At UnityPoint Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experience. As a Laboratory Phlebotomist, you'll play a critical role in supporting our mission by delivering timely, accurate, and efficient blood specimen collection services.
Responsibilities- Obtain blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients across various age groups and departments.
- Label specimens according to standards and adhere to standard work processes.
- Support the LEAN principles of one piece flow and first in first out when delivering patient samples to the laboratory.
- Exercise judgment in determining work priority and interact with nursing units and clients to ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies.
- Implement the continuous quality improvement process by providing excellent customer service and exemplifying a professional, compassionate, and cooperative representative of the Laboratory.
- High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Successful completion of a phlebotomy course is preferred.
