Position Overview

The faculty physician plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional medical care to pediatric patients in both hospital and outpatient settings. This role encompasses responsibilities in research, education, and advocacy as directed by the Division Chief and leadership of the Center.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Medical Doctor (M.D.) with a degree from an accredited medical institution (Mandatory)

Experience Requirements
No prior experience required (Mandatory)

Essential Skills and Knowledge
Proficient understanding of contemporary medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment methods in the specialty.
Awareness of legal and ethical standards governing medical practice.
Ability to independently assess patient issues and formulate care plans.
Capability to integrate ethical considerations into patient interactions and discuss them with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Experience in supervising and mentoring clinical staff and students in the specialty.
Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and infection control standards.
Dedication to Continuing Medical Education and staying updated on advancements in the field.

Licenses and Certifications
Must hold a full medical license and credentials as an attending physician at Children's National Medical Center (Mandatory)
Board certification or eligibility in primary specialty (Mandatory)
Board certification in a relevant secondary specialty (Preferred)
