Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Regulatory Relations to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our regulatory relations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining effective relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate examinations and routine meetings with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely and accurate responses to regulatory requests.
  • Conduct due diligence and determine materiality of regulatory issues, working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to draft and prepare responses.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of banking regulations, risk management controls, and internal control objectives and practices, relevant to RBC's prudential regulators.
  • Summarize examiners' findings and perspectives, providing notification and escalation as appropriate.
  • Contribute to and manage technical enhancements and expansion of the department's Regulatory Engagement recordkeeping system.
  • Prepare internal reports for RBC Management and Boards of Directors, promoting information sharing of existing and new material regulatory issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Significant experience in regulatory relations, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
