Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Recuperative Care team. As an LVN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the recovery journey of homeless individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine patient care functions, including vital sign collection, medication administration, and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Conduct basic patient assessments and document data in accordance with JWCH policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the evaluation of patient care plans and treatment plans.
- Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate procedures within the scope of practice.
- Provide patient education and support self-management goals.
- Delegate tasks to medical assistants and assist medical personnel with procedures and diagnostic exams.
- Maintain patient exam rooms and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Document patient information, procedures performed, and patient responses in accordance with JWCH policies and procedures.
- Current and valid California LVN License.
- Current BLS card from the American Heart Association.
- At least one year of experience in an ambulatory care setting.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Proficient in performing basic nursing skills, such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including registered nurses, physicians, and support staff.
- Experience working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Current and valid California Driver's License with current car insurance.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
